Saturday, Oct. 16, from 10 AM - 12 PM, at the UICA in Grand Rapids, MI, join Paul Skidmore, award-winning filmmaker and producer/director of the Memphis-based production company parabolos, as he shares specially designed production workflows using the latest advancements in mobile devices and apps for film production.

In this two-hour intensive workshop, you will learn parabolos' completely portable and production-tested techniques and processes. Using iPhones, iPads, iPod Touches, and over 20 applications, you will gain the information necessary to pioneer the next generation of physical production.

The skills you will acquire in this workshop will not only bring some much-needed clarity to your film's organizational elements, but also allow you and your crew more freedom to be truly creative.This workshop is a MUST for any producer, upm, production office coordinator, assistant director, cinematographer and/or those interested in running a streamlined show from pre-production all the way to post.

ABOUT PAUL SKIDMORE

paul skidmore is a graduate of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts School of Filmmaking, where he received his BFA in filmmaking with an emphasis on producing. He served as Associate Producer and Unit Production Manager on the feature film Shotgun Stories, a film Roger Ebert called one of the 20 best of 2008.

In 2009, skidmore continued to stay busy. He produced and DP'ed John Gray, a top 10 finalist for the Doorpost Film Project. He was then granted $30,000 to produce and DP The Glass in conjunction with the online fest. After that, skidmore went on to Assistant Direct James O'Keeffe's epic feature Year 64, set in the 1st Century. These experiences were crucial to developing the parabolos portable production process.
